Maybe the browns thought it was still preseason. Maybe they thought that playing dallas was no big deal, and that they would be able to win this game.Maybe romeoe crennel wanted to give Phil Dawson some extra kicking practice when he kicked the field goal instead of going for it.
What gives? The Browns simply looked flat. I've seen JV teams play better then what they did this afternoon. Lets break it down (painful as it is!)
Offensive line Grade C-
The line did not protect second year starter Derek Anderson throughout game. They seemed over matched and overpowered by Dallas Front line and whole defense in general.
Running backs- C
Jamal lewis broke out a few decent runs, but at that point in the game it was too little, too late. Cant run the ball when you only have 11 minutes left in the game and the score is 28-10. The backs behind him did fairly well, but with few touches it is hard to judge them.
Wide Receivers/TE's As usual, Kellen Winslow was a bright spot on the receiving side of the house. The others however did not impress. Whats with Braylon Edwards thinking he needs to jump on nearly every catch? There was at least one ball where it was not necessary, and I belive it cost the browns a first down. Grade- B
Defense- Overall- D- Tony Romo had so much time in the pocket, he could have knit a sweater for abbey, wrote Jessica simpson a love song, and had some skyline chili and still make the throw to any of his targets.
Overall, this game left a sinking feeling in my stomach. I ceratainly hope they get their act together for Pittsburgh, as this is one very important division game.
Hope Julie and Jon had fun at the game!
