this was received from Jimmy last night via email:

Yo pa! We arrived at Sante Fe yesterday and rode the shuttle toAlbequerque where we met Kathleen and Frank.
They picked us up there and we rode in to the ski valley.

We didn't really do much yesterday, but today we went skiing today on the m
ountain. It was pretty awesome. We did the bunny slope (strawberry hill though I keep calling it strawberry field) for maybe five runs then headed up the _big_ lift.

We musta done the mountain three times, once taking an additional liftup a hair further (at that point we were 12,000+ ft above sea level).

As Frank kept saying, I was "one with the mountain". That is to say, I did pretty well for a novice. We kept solely to "green" trails (named for those "green at the sport of course) though some party members (Kelsey) commented occasionally that some of what Taos calls green would be blues (the next level up) anywhere else.
I was mostly trying to concentrate on getting down alive to be too concered with what threat level I was dealing with. 12k+ feet up - all the trails looked rather steep to me.
Our phones, unsurprisingly, don't work up here. We have internet access at the inn where we're staying but it is s l o w.
I have some pictures but have given up trying to upload them. Could you do me a favor and post this on the blog? The connection is too spotty for me to do it myself.
We've ordered pizza and are going towatch 3:10 to Yuma shortly.
On another note (though she hasn't posted on it yet, she does assure me that she will) Kelsey's half-marathon was a tremendous success. Such so that she is looking at some road bikes and has her eye set ona triathalon on June 8th.
Look for more on that, also including pictures, once we get back.
I'll write you again when able, hope things are going well there. I miss you pa, I miss all of you.
Love,Jimmy.
