Arrived Safely and Doing Well

We arrived safely yesterday afternoon around 6:00 'ish.

(first an apology for no photos (yet) as the camera is packed somewhere)

Traveled 1100 miles (outside Dallas) before encountering speed check on our side of the highway, then saw a second guy 1/2 mile from the first.

The SNEAKIEST Ever Radar/Laser in hiding was seen by another of Texas' finest, where he was just beyond an overpass (we see that in our local areas too) but he was outside his vehicle (car) up the hill completely hidden and undetectable until you went thru the overpass.

THAT caused me to slow down and drive more responsibly for the last 2 hours of our trip.

For those of you who've been here more recently than I (Shugg & Pace)
SHAME on YOU for not being more clear on what a Great place Bobo has as an apartment AND how "normal" he has it furnished.

I distinctly remember (and commented sometime last evening) that , "when I get MY own place, I'm going to bite directly off the hunk(s) of cheese and drink right out of the milk containers!"

Here's what I've found (so far) that is soooooooo different than expected.
1. he has coasters to protect furniture
2. he HAS furniture
3. he has a Spoon rest on his stove!
4. his refrigerator (and pantry) is actually well stocked, (more so than Chaims usually is)
5. he has a canopy bed (with sheets even)
6. his apartment is HUGE
7. his apartment complex is enormous
8. everything has it's place and is organized
9. a 18 foot long bathroom
10. the largest bathtub I have EVER used in my 20,525 days
11. soft water with pressure to die for
12. Coke products in the 'fridge (what's up with that?)
13. matching commode & shower floor mats
14. a nice set of steak knives
15. a T.V. stand (without a television)
16. matching (nice) silverware (2 sets)
17. a stylish coffee table
18. contemporary dining room table and chairs
19. table & chairs & grill for his balcony
20. shoe rack in the closet
21. not that he has a mop, but that he Knows how to use it!
22. scented candles
23. a flexible neck butane candle lighter
24. and it's CLEAN

The key word here (repeated often) being Nice

I might as well mention something he doesn't have: a plunger. :-P (no Mike, this fact has Nothing to do with me specifically, suffice it to say we're ALL doing our part. )

We talked a while, went to dinner, came home to watch some "24" and I fell asleep in his lazyboy recliner.

Woke up before he left for work @ 5:55 a.m. and have been up since.

Going exploring this afternoon before going to church tonight.

Oh, and another thing worth noting: it's 10:48 a.m. now (11:48 back home) AND YOUR MOM IS STILL ASLEEP!!

Oh, I didn't know we were giving reasons for sleeping late. :-)

I didn't get to sleep until 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning ( I think I was excited), got up at 5:00 a.m. and then drove from 8:00 a.m. 'til 11:00 P.M.

I win!

In my defense, he did not have all those things (canopy bed, lots of furniture, coasters, full fridge, to name a few) when I was there.

However, it IS a great place.

I still maintain it would be better if it were in Ohio, though.

For those of us who haven't been able to visit Jimmy yet, can we get some pictures of the fabulous apartment?

Pictures are coming.

A HIGHER priority right now is a PLUNGER!

Note: I keep adding to the list as we discover new things.
