This post is specifically geared toward Kelsey. Hopefully, her responses will be helpful to both Jason and I.
Any advise/recommendations/etc that you want to give regarding Jason and my upcoming races??
Thanks
Jon
P.S. I just thought I'd mix it up with the text color changes

1. Water! Stay hydrated. This is important both before the race and during. If you need to, take breaks to be sure that you are actually drinking the water, not just throwing it on your face.
2. Pace yourself. Everyone always tells you to pace yourself. There is a reason they all tell you this, because it's true! Your adrenaline will want to take you faster than you should (especially at the beginning) but be conscious of your speed. Know the mile times you are comfortable with and stick with them.
3. Get to the race early. If you arrive early enough, any anxiety about parking or where to be when can be eliminated. I arrived about 1.5 hours early, but I don't necessarily recommend that early. You want to make sure that you have enough time to warm up and get yourself ready. This also allows you to use the restroom before the race (which is something I really needed).
4. Don't focus on the crowd. Let their cheers motivate you but I felt if I tried to look for people I knew, it really took me out of focus.
5. HAVE FUN! You 2 are going to do great!!! Enjoy the race!
I wish that Jimmy and I would be able to be there cheering you on but we will be thinking about you both and praying for you.
Let us know how it goes!
