Some pictures...

Kelsey has a friend at work who gave birth about ten days ago. We took her dinner Saturday night and got some pictures with the new baby (don't tell Abby she isn't the only baby now on the blog!).

Also (though unrelated) Kelsey ordered a few games from Target. Er actually, that story requires some explanation. So we're sitting around talking. Kelsey says something to me about we need a few more games, build a nice game library (in response to all the games at home perhaps??). I hop on target.com, see a game I like (Risk). There's a couple links there: "Add to cart" and something about "One click shopping". Well, being myself, I think "no way is there such a thing as *one click* shopping, at least one click to take you somewhere then another click...". So I clicked it. Next screen says "thank you Kelsey Caldwell, your item has been shipped"! Turns out there *is* such a thing at target.com as "one-click shopping"! Kelsey had logged in some time before to buy something from there, and was still logged in, and she went ahead and bought a couple games from target.com with this one-click deal. Even if she didn't know about it at first!

The above is a picture of a little more than halfway through the game. Now, for those new to risk, we're talking about a game of GLOBAL DOMINATION. As you can easily see, someone is quickly on their way to GLOBAL DOMINATION, with only a few small territories standing in the way.

Above is the final game. The winner GLOBALLY DOMINATED.

Only one *small* problem....

I wasn't blue. Kelsey was. She *stomped* me.

I feel obliged (though not at all excited) to remind faithful Waterblogged readers that the first time Kelsey played Backgammon.... she backgammoned me. Now forever in the annals of history shall it be recorded that the first time she played me at Risk... she GLOBALLY DOMINATED me. It wouldn't be nearly so humiliating if it weren't a game based (almost) wholly on *strategy*. After I was able to close my dropped jaw, I immediately challenged her to an arm wrestling contest. Flush from her complete upset, and clearly remembering her track record on first-time wins, she politely declined. I think probably a good thing for me, as I'm not sure I could have handled that blow to the ego as well.

'Til next time, hope everyone is doing well!

Ok, so I'm not the first to offer congrat's, I'll settle for #3 (assuming Jimmy offered his congrat's after the game).

Re: your BG skills, prepare youself for a thorough thrashing in BG at Topsail.

You may have beaten Jimmy easily (your first time playing), but I KNOW he's not much in the competition dept.

JP the 1st.

Nice work, Kelsinator!

Way to be polite about it, too. Bobo can use all the examples of that he can get.

I failed in my previous comment, to mention how mahvalous you (Kelsey) looked holding that bambino.

Must have been all that experience you gained in OHIO. :-)

That being said, we gained more by having another opportunity to get to know you better. Thanks agin for coming and we look forward to more adventures in Topsail.
